JAN MARSEILLE

Hi, my name is Jan Marseille. I’m a husband, father of four wonderful daughters, and a Salvation Army officer in Denmark.

I grew up in a family with deep international and spiritual roots—born to Dutch Salvation Army officers, I spent my early years in Congo, then the Netherlands, and eventually settled in Denmark. That blend of cultures, faith, and service has shaped both my outlook and vocation.

Since 2007, I’ve shared life with my wife, Eydritt. Together, we’ve built a home filled with love, laughter, questions, and the occasional chaos that comes with raising four daughters. Our youngest was born in 2022. As a family, we enjoy food, creativity, and travel—and we are passionate about building inclusive communities.

Professionally, I have a background in design and communications. From 2010 to 2015, I ran Marseille Advertising, a small creative agency that helped brands find their voice. Though the agency is now closed, I still enjoy designing, developing visual identities, and experimenting with tools that connect people—digitally and face to face.

Today, Eydritt and I serve together as corps leaders (pastors) in The Salvation Army Vejle, where we lead a vibrant community of volunteers, social programs, youth initiatives, worship services, creative workshops, and a growing network of groups for spiritual formation and mutual care.

We believe in a church that is present in its neighbourhood, attentive to need, and open to all. Our work integrates spiritual leadership, strategic development, and practical action—whether that means distributing food, training volunteers, mentoring young leaders, or dreaming up new ways to embody faith in everyday life.

In all we do, we are guided by our calling:

To follow Jesus, serve people, and build communities of hope.
